Robot technology continues to gain more ground in the digital world and in all fields, to the point that in many cases it threatens traditional professions, including delivery professions, as Domino's Pizza, the global pizza maker, has begun to rely on a self-driving robot to deliver orders.
The issue here is about the "Nuro" robot, which is a self-driving robot. Starting this week, Domino's company began offering a self-driving automated car delivery service to identify customers in the Houston area who choose this service, as they will receive their pies in a fully autonomous car made by Nuro. According to CNN, the Nuro robotic car was the first self-driving, human-free road delivery vehicle to receive regulatory approval from the US Department of Transportation last year.
According to CNN, customers in Woodland Heights in Houston, USA, can choose to deliver the robot and receive text messages containing updates about the vehicle’s location and a digital code that can be used to retrieve the order. Once the car arrives, the customer enters the number on the touch screen of the robot, and the doors of the car open to serve food, and this is not Domino’s first experience in distributing orders with self-driving smart robots, as it had previously done a similar experience in 2017, as it used the company that takes from The city of Michigan has a self-driving Ford Fusion hybrid to deliver pizza to randomly selected customers in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Despite this, this technology is still in its infancy, and it cannot be generalized to all users and regions in a short period of time.
