NASA is preparing to launch its first helicopter on Mars today, Monday

"NASA" aims to launch the "Ingenuity" helicopter in the early hours of Monday on Mars, in the first powered and remote-controlled flight on a planet other than Earth.

The helicopter is scheduled to take off at around 3:30 a.m. EST on Monday.

The flight was initially scheduled to launch on April 11, but was rescheduled after a flaw appeared that forced engineers to do more checks before it was re-launched.

The helicopter reached the "Jezero" crater on Mars on February 18th, and it is attached to the belly of the NASA "Perseverence" probe.

The probe will provide support during overflight operations, image capture and environmental data collection.
