Video: The first digital home on Mars sold for $ 500,000

The artist sold the  world's first digital home called the "Mars House" for about $ 500,000.

Designed by artist Krista Kim, Mars House was able to create it with the help of an architect and software commonly used to create video games. From this group, a digital 3D file appeared in which, thanks to virtual reality, people could completely walk around the future home. The whole scene is a surreal experience, whether at home or the place it is, surrounded by an atmosphere inspired by the planet Mars.

The artwork was sold through a platform called SuperRare, which is dedicated to selling the non-expendable tokens known as NFT, which are unique digital files protected by a technology responsible for verifying the identity, ownership, and authenticity of the file.

Krista Kim described her digital home as "a sculpture of light," she told Design & Architecture website Dezeen . “Soon, we will all be living in augmented reality through our real environments using SuperWorld,” Kim said, explaining that the latter is a mapping app for the entire world for an augmented reality interface.

Additionally, Kim also said her digital home, Mars House, is ready for this future, "where you can transport yourself to our real environment and have fun with others."

The virtual house includes glass and fabric furniture, and has a dining, sitting, and sleeping area, as well as a swimming pool.

The house appears to be perched on top of a mountain on the planet Mars, offering stunning views of the red planet's landscape.

The sale of this virtual home was announced through the official SuperRare Twitter account , which is the site where the sale was made. There they report that the final value was 288 Ether, which is a new cryptocurrency. The house was put up for sale on March 15th and the proposed offer was accepted on March 17th.
