Exynos 1080 processor
The Korean one giant Samsung announced its new Exynos 1080 processor for the mid-range phones.
The new Exynos 1080 processor is Samsung's first processor made with 5nm EUV FinFET technology, and it succeeds the Exynos 980 processor with the built-in 5G modem .
The processor contains eight cores; Four Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55. One of the Cortex-A78 cores comes with a frequency of 2.8 GHz, while the other three cores operate at a frequency of 2.6 GHz. The Cortex-A55 cores operate at a frequency of 2.0 GHz. The processor includes a Mali-G78 MP10 graphics processor.
Exynos 1080 includes a 5G NR Sub-6GHz modem that provides a download speed of 5.1 Gbps and an upload speed of 1.28 Gbps. There is a 5G NR mmWave modem with a download speed of 3.67 Gbps and an upload speed of 3.67 Gbps.
The processor supports Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi technology (802.11ax), and the processor supports one 200-megapixel camera, or two 32-megapixel cameras each. It also supports 4K video encoding at 60 fps.
The new Samsung Exynos 1080 supports a WQHD + screen at 90Hz, or FHD + at a rate of 144Hz. The processor also supports LPDDR5 RAM, or LPDDR4x, and supports UFS 3.1 internal storage.
It is expected that the first phones containing the new Samsung processor will be launched early 2021. During the announcement of the processor in China, a representative of the company revealed that Vivo will be the first to launch a phone that works with the new processor, as it did last year with the Exynos 980 processor.
